“MI-Child“ is a health insurance program for working parents of uninsured children. Medical services are provided by HMO's such as Blue Cross, Blue Shield, Cape Health and Total Health Care. The mental health services are carved out from these medical plans, and eligible members must receive the mental health treatment at local county community mental health agencies. Development Centers, Inc. is the MI-Child Administrator for covered Wayne County recipients. The mental health benefit includes up to 20 individual, group or family treatment sessions each calendar year. Services must be pre-authorized by the MI-Child administrator. For more information about MI-Child, please contact your health plan, the local health department, the Department of Health and Human Services, or you can call 1-888-988-6300. Persons with hearing disabilities can call 1-888-263-5897. Development Center's MI-Child Administrator can also be reached at 313-531-2500, ext. 1223. |
